Dawn Lauter is in her final trimester at Thunderbird ñ The Garvin School of International Management. She is pursing an MBA with a focus in Global Marketing and Brand Management.
Dawn is a California native who grew up in San Diego and left to attend the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she received a dual BA in Legal Studies/International Law and Latin American Studies. Her senior thesis covered issues of national sovereignty in the wake of technology and globalization.
Prior to Thunderbird, Dawn gained professional experience as a technical services coordinator at Micromuse Inc., a software company, and as a grants coordinator at the J. David Gladstone Institutes, a biomedical research facility. Most recently, she interned in a marketing and consulting capacity at the CSR Group (Corporate Social Responsibility).
In addition to her current studies, Dawn serves as the president of Thunderbirdís Net Impact Chapter, a student-led club dedicated to promoting sustainable business practices. The club is also the founding organization of the Global Citizenship Challenge, which recently hosted 56 MBA teams from 34 top business schools to compete on the question of how the public and private sectors can work together to further the United Nationís Millennium Development Goals relating to health care.
After graduation, Dawn looks forward to working in a corporate culture that is creative and ethical, and which seeks to improve business and society through innovation, efficiency, and community involvement. In her spare time, she enjoys teaching yoga, camping, singing, cooking, and traveling.
